HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY SITE.

Are you visiting this page hoping to find someone to help you further understand your feelings, why some things are so difficult, or to find some support during hard times?  It can be daunting to approach a therapist you don't know, and to consider the prospect of exploring things which might be painful.  You are welcome to contact me with any questions, or to enquire about availability.

HOW I WORK

I believe we all have the ability to find our way through difficulties, but that sometimes we all need some help to get back on track if we feel stuck.  Therapy can support you in exploring what is going on, and how to move forward.  An initial meeting can be an opportunity to explore what you want from therapy, and to get a sense of how effectively we could work together.  Each session would be your time, to be used for exploration and reflection on the issues or concerns you are experiencing.  I offer careful listening and a non-judgmental, confidential and safe space to talk.  Therapy can be hard and challenging, but ultimately the benefits can be life-changing.

If after the initial session we decide to continue to work together we would arrange to meet weekly.   Sessions last 50 minutes and are an opportunity to explore the feelings and experiences that are most important to you at that time.  My training and experience can help to support you in your exploration, and may help you to find a way through it more quickly than if you were doing this alone.

I have worked as a Nurse in the NHS for many years and have witnessed how intrinsically linked physical and mental health are.  Through my own varied life experience I understand many of the stresses and strains that life presents us with.   Life can be really hard.  Together we can work through the things that are painful and stuck, to find a way forward.   I am committed to helping others to get to a place where life is full and rewarding.

Who I am

WHO I AM

I am a Psychotherapist in training at BCPC (Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling). The course is accredited by the UKCP and the MA is validated by Middlesex University. This is a long postgraduate course over many years, combining rigorous academic and experiential learning. The orientation of my practice is Humanistic and Integrative and I am currently in my sixth year of training. I am fully insured and a trainee member of UKCP, and I work with clients who are over 18.  In my previous career I worked as a Registered Nurse within the NHS for 15 years.  This has given me a wealth of experience in supporting people through extremely difficult and challenging times.

Services

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

Although I am in training, it is a long course and I am already in my 6th year. As a result of this I am able to offer a reduced rate of £40 per session (50mins).  I offer short-term and longer-term Psychotherapy for those aged 18yrs and over.  Sessions are in person at the Practice Rooms in Bath and the Therapy Rooms in Chippenham, with the flexibility to have some Zoom sessions if needed.
